Elizabeth Oliver
Editor specializing in manuscript critique, developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading for fiction and nonfiction.
Elizabeth Oliver has worked as an editor for 25 years. She holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from Emerson College. She brings both creativity and technical expertise to her editing projects, working as a developmental editor, line editor, copyeditor, and proofreader. Her experience includes serving as the managing editor for The Rambler, a national literary magazine, and she has worked as a freelance editor for independent authors as well as editorial companies and academic and trade publishers.
She has worked on literary fiction, romance novels, thrillers, mysteries, memoirs, and both technical and general nonfiction.
She’s even proofread a golfing calendar despite having never played a round.
Elizabeth is especially drawn to character-driven fiction and personal nonfiction, and her favorite authors include Kate Atkinson and Tana French. She is a published short story and personal essay writer, and some of her work can be found at The Key of E on Substack. She lives in Apex, North Carolina, where she can be found joking around with her teenage daughters, teaching their dog new tricks, or riding her rickety bike.
