Editorial Services
(1)
TED is one of the country's oldest and best respected freelance editorial firms, offering a complete roster of critique, editorial, consultation and development services to help make a fiction or nonfiction manuscript as strong as possible in content and execution and to ready it for the marketplace.

Manuscript Critique & Evaluation Services
(5)
TED's manuscript critique and evaluation services provide candid, objective, constructive, no-nonsense feedback from experienced editors and manuscript consultants on what works, what can work better, and how to give your manuscript the best shot at successful publication. We have options for book length fiction and nonfiction, book proposals, short stories, and also submission packages for agents and publishers.
-
Line & Copy Editing Services
(3)
TED offers three levels of line and copy editing services with options ranging from basic correction of spelling and grammar all the way though a comprehensive polishing edit and coaching notes to help bring out the best in your narrative voice and elevate the appeal of your prose style. All editing is done electronically using a "track changes" feature, which allows authors to accept, modify, or reject all suggested edits. We provide a clean as-edited copy along with the compared version, which shows what's been cut, inserted, or modified.
-
Manuscript Consultation Services
(1)
TED's manuscript consultation services are available to assist authors in conceptualizing and/or executing a novel or nonfiction book at the highest level possible, to fix any problem areas, and to address any structural or story-based challenges. Manuscript consultation is also often ideal for authors who want hands-on support in the implementation of ideas presented in a manuscript evaluation or in realizing other objectives.

Acquisitions Support Services
(4)
For authors seeking traditional publication, The Editorial Department offers several services that can bring your manuscript to the attention of agents and editors. By evaluating your project's market potential, finding the "hook", and creating a strong pitch, we can help and advise throughout the submissions process. Our services include the Query and Submissions Packet Evaluation and help with crafting or strengthening a book proposal with Book Proposal Development.
For the best manuscripts we've edited, The Editorial Department offers the Agent Matchmaking Program. This service brings hands-on query assistance and direct referrals to top literary agents. Books with a strong platform or concept, a fresh and timely voice, or that are otherwise outstanding are candidates for this program.
