With Manuscript Annotation, the editor reading your manuscript not only addresses strengths and weaknesses with suggestions in the overview memo but also throughout the manuscript.
What to ExpectYour manuscript filled with specific, detailed notes and comments easily read and incorporated. Manuscript annotation gives you everything an evaluation does, addressing plot, pacing, characterization, and writing style, but you also get comments with specific suggestions placed throughout the manuscript. Writers can figure out for themselves where to make changes from an evaluation alone, but most find that with annotation the revision process goes faster. Included in the price of the annotation is up to a half-hour of phone or e-mail consultation with the reviewing editor. This session gives our editors the opportunity to answer any questions about comments made in the report and to discuss and respond to any ideas the author may have about the manuscript. Consultation beyond the time included in the evaluation package, if desired, is available at a special rate of $45 per hour. Other ConsiderationsThere are no changes made in the text with annotation, so you are free to accept or deny the editor’s suggestions as you see fit, which is very useful for writers wanting to recognize and learn their own patterns and how to edit themselves.PricingFor manuscripts greater than 50,000 words, the fee for the Manuscript Annotation is $0.012 per word.
