Publication NewsAn Innocent Client, by Scott PrattAgent: Phil Spitzer of the Philip G. Spitzer Literary Agency Scott's character-driven first novel An Innocent Client has seven pre-publication deals so far. New American Library (NAL) is the American publisher in a very handsome two-book deal and plans to make it the lead title in their highly successful crime fiction line. In the meantime rights have already been sold in countries including Japan, Germany, and France—a five-figure deal in each country! Scott is currently in negotiations regarding development of a television series that would feature An Innocent Client's defense attorney, Joe Dillard. We will keep you all up to date on the breaking news about this one. Scott was a defense attorney for years, and is now a full-time writer living in East Tennessee, where An Innocent Client is set.

The good news reached us in October of '07 that Laura has accepted a two book contract from NAL for the follow-ups to her hit debut novel, Veil of Roses, which was published by Bantam in 2006 and chosen as a Target Spring Club Pick in 2007. Laura is a Tucson local whose flair for smart, funny prose, deftly drawn characters, and witty dialogue makes her an absolute pleasure to read. She's a talented new writer whose success with her first novel is a welcome reminder that the market for first fiction of real quality is alive and well. Steve is a Tucson local whose book explores a revolutionary and increasingly popular movement in the health care industry that centers on a stronger doctor-patient relationship. The book is available as of April 2008 from Greenwood Publishing Group, and order information is available here. Steve's first book was a terrific self-published effort called The Mind and Body Connection. Larry Golding, former Editor in Chief of the American College of Sports Medicine's Health and Fitness Journal, listed the book as one of his top four 'gems' of books dealing with health and fitness.
